Breast Augmentation Procedure
Breast augmentation is a simple cosmetic procedure that aims to reshape the breasts by giving them a larger, fuller, and rounder shape. The most common medical fillings used in this procedure are made of silicone and saline liquid.
The cosmetic doctor determines the type of filling according to the required size and desired results, as well as the skin type, body shape, and age, the latter being considered a key factor in determining the type of fillings.
- Silicone fillings: Give a natural look to the breast shape, as it consists of a silicone shell filled with silicone gel, which is a transparent viscous liquid that is similar in composition to the deciduous glands that make up the breast. A woman must be over 20 to be suitable for a breast augmentation procedure with silicone fillings.
- Saline liquid fillings: Give a larger size to the breast than silicone fillings and are made of brine (a strong saline solution) inside a silicone rubber membrane. It can be filled with different quantities depending on the required size. A woman must be over 18 to be suitable for a breast augmentation procedure with saline fillings.
Breast augmentation surgery is done for other therapeutic purposes, such as the stage following breast cancer treatment or to achieve symmetry.

Stages Of Breast Augmentation
The breast augmentation procedure can be summarized into 4 main stages:
- First stage: conducting clinical examinations. The doctor examines the breast and determines the desired size, which is commensurate with the shape of the body and is required to be done through breast augmentation surgery.
- Second stage: Conducting the necessary tests—conducting the necessary blood tests to identify blood sugar levels and to make sure that the patient is free of diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, or immunodeficiency, that would hinder breast augmentation procedures.
- Third stage: preparing the patient. The medical staff prepares the patient, and the anesthesiologist administers general anesthesia for the patient.
- Fourth stage: breast augmentation. The doctor makes a tiny incision, which helps him insert the fillings into the breast, giving it the desired size.
